Chateau La Grave

Story

La Grave is a family domain. The family is wine grower for a long time. Formerly, the harvest was deposited in the cooperative cellar of the village. In the 1970s, Josiane and Jean-Pierre OROSQUETTE decided to settle down in their own particular cellar. Not having enough money to enlarge the surface of their cellar to install tanks, they have the idea to make subterranean tanks! This idea is brilliant! These tanks keep the wine for a natural freshness!

A few years later, they buy the domain La Grave the vineyard of which is in poor condition. From the 1st harvest, they discover to have many white grapes of which the famous Maccabeu which will be the mythical grape of La Grave!

This grape, exclusively regional, is very appreciated for its aromas and allows the estate to obtain a beautiful reputation for white wines!
Their son Jean-François succeeded. While continuing to produce excellent white wines, he developed red and rosé wines by bringing them finesse and elegance. The next generation arrives with his nephew Tristan and his son Julien.
The estate has practiced Reasoned Culture, and from the vintage of 2019 will be certified Terra Vitis.
